Do you supply food at your training facility?

Yes we supply you lunch and refreshments throughout the day, coffee, tea, water, juice and biscuits.  


Do you have parking at your training facility?

What is the cost of the courses?

For a full Diver Medic course (10 days) the price is 1500.00 Euros all inclusive of course materials and lunch each day.

For the refresher Diver Medic course (5 days) the price is 950.00 Euros all inclusive of course materials and lunch each day


What do I get for the price?

We provide you with all you course materials you need to get through your course. You will receive your own stethoscope, pen torch, Pocket mask, workbook, pens, Certificates and USB (flash drive) filled with IMCA diving resources and other important resources for your future diving work. Other helpful recourses will be available for you on the course.  


What certificates will I get when I pass the course?

Providing you have the right diving training certificates to do the IMCA DMT course, you will receive the IMCA Diver Medical Technician certificate valid for two years.  You will also receive an Oxygen provider certificate and First Aid Certificate. (other certification can be arranged if needed for work)

I am not a Commercial Diver can I still do the course?

Yes you can.  The course will run as a IMCA DMT course, however you will not be able to get an IMCA certification at the end of the course.  You will still receive a certificate but it will have NO reference to IMCA on the certification.


I am a Recreational/Sports/Technical Diver and would like to do the course, what certification will I get?

Once you have completed the course you will receive a DAN Europe Diver Medic certification, which is recognised around the world.  You will also receive a First Aid at Work Certificate and Oxygen Provider Certificate from DAN Europe.


I am not a Recreational or Commercial Diver but I do surface support can I do the course?

Yes you can, provided you have done a First Aid course in the last 3 years.  If you are uncertain please contact us.


I am a Sports Diver and want to do the course, will I be qualified to do the skills I learnt on the course and use them in the field?

You will NOT be able to do any invasive procedures on anyone at any time. This course was designed for commercial divers in Saturation in order to provide urgent care to their injured diver until Qualified(Doctor) help was available.  At the start of the course you will be given a declaration form,  that you sign saying you understand we do not give you a licence to practice after completing your course. We also DO NOT provide you with any form of insurance to do any of the skills you learnt on the course.  There are insurance companies that provide you with First Aid Insurance such as the following, http://www.markeluk.com/insurance/first-aider.aspx Code Blue Education Ltd and The Diver Medic do not provide or sell any insurance covering your DMT course.  


Why am I not allowed to practice what I have learnt on the course?

You are allowed to provide care and treat injured divers/patients by doing the essential advanced first aid skills, however you are not allowed to do any invasive techniques (procedures that penetrates or breaks the skin or enters a body cavity) other than basic airway management.


I have booked my place on the course but I have been called away for work, can I rebook for the next course?

Yes you can, we understand that being a commercial diver you can be called at anytime to do a job.  We will save you a place on the next course at no extra charge. Please understand that we can only do this once.  If you have to cancel please revert back to your bookings form for the cancellation charges.


How long is the course?

The full course is 10 days or two weeks long.  Monday to Friday. The weekend between is free time for yourself. We do not do training on the weekend. The course duration is 08.30am to 18.00pm each day.


Do we have to do exams?

Yes you will have a Midweek test, this is to see how you have progressed during the week. The last Thursday of the course you will do a written, multi-choice exam at the end of the day.  The last day of the course, you will do a practical exam with a number of scenarios that you have been taught in the course. You will have to pass to complete your course.  The pass mark for your written course is 75%.


What happens if I fail my course?

If you fail your written exam, you will be given exam B to do.  If you fail your written exam B you will not be able to do your practical and will have to do the course again.  If you fail your practical, you will be taken again for your practical by a different assessor.  If the second assessor fails you, you will have to do the course over.  Our aim is to ensure you are given all the right training and if we see you have a problem with any aspects of the training we step in and help you get on track.  We also need to ensure that you are confident and prepared for any emergency situation throughout the course.  If you are having trouble because of a learning difficulty or language barrier, our trainers will stay late each day to get you up to speed.
