TDM Pre-Hospital Emergency Care for Divers Course designed for any diver looking to be prepared for medical emergencies that can arise while at the dive site or on the dive boat. This course provides you with the skills necessary to deal with diving emergencies. The accident and mortality rate amongst recreational and Public Safety divers is higher and their level of medical training lower. As a result, the course is extremely valuable to recreational divers. The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care for Divers course will not teach you how to dive, and it will show you how to save lives’ and assist in treating diving-related injuries. It will teach you how to work under pressure and when to make that all important, life-saving decision.

Role and Responsibility of a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Provider, Incident Assessment, Patient Assessment, Airway Assessment and Management with adjuncts, Oxygen Administration, CPR, and AED Breathing Difficulties, Anaphylaxis, Diabetes, Head Injuries, Seizures, Medical Emergencies, Heart Conditions, Vital Signs, Management of minor and catastrophic bleeding, Poisoning, Burns and scalds, Environmental Exposures, Drowning, Muscular-skeletal trauma, Diving Physics
Decompression Sickness, Gas Toxicity, Ear Injuries and use of Otoscope, Lung Injuries, Marine Life Injuries and more.

Certification Information

In order to attend and complete this course, you must be 18 years of age or older and be in good physical health. It is expected that you hold an Open Water recreational diver certification or appropriate equivalent (Surface Support/Tender).
